Every journey eventually turns outward. In the Boundary Waters, my son and I expected a simple drive home, but a 24‑hour detour became one of the clearest Outbound Trail moments of my life. Our plans fell apart, but God stepped in, sending us into four unexpected stories and reminding us that mission is never a solo task - it is always a with task.

The Summit is where the journey slows into intimacy. In John 15, Jesus invites us to abide - not to visit, lean, or strive, but to make our home in Him. Summit moments like Yosemite sunrises, Boundary Waters nights, or a Spirit‑filled Mother’s Day service are glimpses of what continual connection makes possible. Abiding is not effort; it is union. It is the life of the branch in the Vine.

After a long, exhausting day in the Boundary Waters, the glow of a fire on the shoreline became more than a campsite. It became a place to finally set down the weight we’d carried. Jesus offers the same invitation in Matthew 11: a Basecamp for weary souls, a place of arrival, welcome, shared load, and rest. Basecamp is where your burdens find a place to land.
